When Gorgeous George takes to the stage, all you need is a few bars to be fully in the zone. From the off it’s a full-on lyrical assault, a lung-busting gallop, with melodies and rhythms flying from innumerable instruments like the screams and pistol fire at a drunken Balkan wedding party in deepest South London. It is all about the energy with this gang.

The musical inspirations of this particular magnificent seven emerged through the filter of sneaking into older siblings and parents record collections as well as growing up in the capital city with all it has to offer. Their end product has boiled down into a strong, genre-defying brew that see’s Dr. Feelgood, Gogol Bordello, The Blockheads, Dexy’s and Blur all mashed in the cellar of your favourite boozer.

Gorgeous George had a very successful summer this year with appearances at Bestival, Secret Garden Party, Isle of Wight Festival, BoomTown, Beat-Herder and 10 other UK festivals. This was all off the back of their first headline UK tour and a string of releases which were co-produced with the one and only Chrissy Boy from the legendary Madness.

The 17th December sees the South London posse move up East to the renowned boozer Sebright Arms for their own Christmas bash in aid of the top charity Crisis. The band will be joined by Sparkle Darkly and DJ Waxy Ramos for a festive knees up like you’ve never experienced before. No ticket price, just a door donation with all profits going to Crisis so you can feel smug that you’ve done your bit with a beer in your hand and Gorgeous George at the helm.
