Xylaroo are a duo born out of the late 2000’s and formed by sisters Holly, 28 and Coco Chant, 26. They released their debut album “Sweetooth” in 2016 after signing to the independent label Sunday Best, with their music garnering airtime and attention from the likes of Steve Lamacq, John Kennedy, Edith Bowman and Zoe Ball. They have been fortunate enough to have toured across Europe and the UK with such legends as Mika, Pup, Matt Berry and the Maypoles and Will Varley, with 2018 culminating in a 26-date tour supporting Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls across Europe.
Holly and Coco grew up in Maidstone, England via Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka and the Philippines and along their travels picked up and honed a uniquely “beachy” West Coast Pop-Folk sound. Their lyrics drive their songs, while bittersweet harmonies fill out often sombre, sometimes serious yet always hopeful melodies. At times of performance the band might swell into a full and vibrant 5-piece ensemble (Dan Johnson on bass, Keir Adamson on Drums) or a three-piece accompanied by the swirling guitar sounds of Electric guitarist Joe Singleton. However, they are most notably and usually found, around their current home city of London as an acoustic duo; raw and honest.
Xylaroo are currently working on their second album due for release in 2019.
